该领域的有效条目包括筹备中(即在报告所涉时期内已提交以筹资的项目/方案提案)，进行中(即正在执行并处于积极阶段中的项目/方案)…

仔细分析两例，同样是"pipeline + project"搭配，前者是指石油管道项目，而后者是正在准备的项目，"pipeline"本身有"准备"、"筹备"和"储备"之意。

语境不同，差之毫厘，谬以千里。

可见，遇到"pipeline"不可一概翻译为"管道"，否则有可能弄巧成拙。

"a pipeline of"

固定搭配"a pipeline of"/"pipeline of"是商务英语中常见的用法之一，其译法灵活，以传神为要。

例一：

Caterpillar needs interns and recent college graduates to build our pipeline of talented professionals.

卡特彼勒需要实习生和刚刚毕业的大学生，以建立公司的专业人才渠道。

Noting the pipeline of requests for IPRs and their follow-up, it invites development partners to enable UNCTAD to respond to these requests.

"在研"v.s."管线"

医学翻译中也会遇到"pipeline"一词，一般翻译"在研"（项目/药物/产品）。

不严格的情况下，也可以翻译成"管道"或"管线"。

In 2007-2014, CNIBR scientists have delivered many novel drug targets into the global pipeline including bringing a number of first-in-class drug candidates targeting cancer and liver disease into pre-clinical phase.

2007 至 2014，研发中心的科研人员为诺华全球研发产品线提供了许多新药靶点，包括将多个针对癌症和肝病的新型候选药物推进至临床前试验阶段。

"排队上市"

金融界喜欢用"pipeline"来描述"排队上市"甚至"IPO堰塞湖"的情况。

The Beijing-based mobile infrastructure group’s listing marks a break in the long pipeline of new tech Chinese IPOs this year.

这家总部位于北京的移动基础设施集团的上市标志着中国科技公司排队上市的景象出现暂时变化。
